I’m on a little bit of a Holga photography kick lately. Here are the latest roll I got developed last week. I’m gonna reload the 120 film and get some more this weeknd. I love the way to double exposures came out again. I wish I would of had someone to take our photo so we both were in it, but Kim did awesome taking the shots I framed out so I have some more of myself. I have 2 more rolls to get developed. I’m gonna post some music videos now couple cool ones from this week.
Good hell I’m in love with her. Still so bummed I missed this concert. This makes me consider giving up all fan hood for her. If you have scrolled down my blog at all you will see how much I love Grimes. Claire Boucher stage name, Grimes, in her new music video for Oblivion. Her dancing with headphones, bros, and in a locker room with the meat heads working out. Such a great separation showing people that would never be at a concert or own her cd grooving to her music. Is she going after the crowd or just showing giant d bags for the hell of it? Whatever, Grimes is fucking awesome. Watch the video, download the cd, go to her concert.
Directed by Emily Kai Bock. Cinematography by Evan Prosofsky.
After cruising Denise Nouvion flickr stream and website for hours last night I figure I would share how awesome she really is. Memoryhouse is a band consisting of Denise and Evan Abeele. Here is a brief description of Memoryhouse from Pitchfork Lindsay Zoladz review of their last album.
The Ontario duo Memoryhouse began not as a band so much as an art project. Denise Nouvion was a photographer who took dreamy, spectral-haunted photographs, and Evan Abeele a music school grad with an equal love of neo-classical composers and My Bloody Valentine. After meeting through friends a few years ago, Nouvion and Abeele embarked on a collaboration: He composed minimalist instrumental tracks to soundtrack her short films and accompany her photo exhibits. At some point, though, Nouvion’s plaintive, placid-lake vocals got added to the mix, Abeele started writing bridges and choruses, and Memoryhouse morphed into a full-fledged dream pop band.
That just sounds like the cool indie girl everyone wants. Her photos are what really intrigued me to cruise around on her website and flickr stream saving images to my inspiration folder for so long. Here are a couple cool ones but go to the site and look around yourself. Below is the new music video release. Memoryhouse new album, The Slideshow Effect, is out now check out your iTunes or amazon to pick it up.
Posting up a bunch of film shots from my Holga at last August Pacific Festival. I always loved Holga conert photography. Finally had these developed last weekend. I love how they came out., I just wish I would have done more. Next time I guess. I bought some more film so hopefully me and Kim will go out to the beach soon and take some double exposure shots. Those on the beach always look awesome.
The site is finally coming together getting the categories a little more laid out and soon some more portfolio pieces. A lot to organize to get up. Lots of other projects cooking so check out the pics. I’ll try not to post all the videos on here from the Grimes vs Bear today…If you follow me on twitter you probably had enough of that already, and if you don’t, well go fuck yourself.
Its actually been awhile since I felt genuinely stoked to hear new Odd Future. Maybe the Tyler, the creator and really just all of OFWGKTA over-hype just kind of made me a little disinterested. But, I think that was hipster in me talking. Shoo that away and this video is pretty fucking sweet. I still Hodgy might have my favorite career of these guys. At least Odd Future isn’t named Lana Del Rey.
Here’s the first taste from Odd Future‘s group album OF Tape Vol. 2(out March 20 through Odd Future Records), a video for a new song called “Rella” by Tyler, the Creator, Domo Genesis, and Hodgy Beats, with production by Left Brain.
Directed by Tyler under his Wolf Haley alias, the clip features your typical Odd Future absurdity and immaturity. Including Domo Genesis slapping a woman in the face. Good job, guys. We really needed that. Thanks a lot. Appreciate it.
